Privileging Electric Vehicles as an Element of Promoting Sustainable Urban Mobility—Effects on the Local Transport System in a Large Metropolis in Poland

The main purpose of this article was to determine the impact on equilibrium local transport system from privileging EVs by permitting them use bus lanes. study used two sets data: information infrastructure and traffic management; recorded road network loads volumes generated a given shopping centre—the E. Leclerc centre (an important generator within city ?ód?, Poland). These were then develop microsimulation model for associated effects localised system. constructed means PTV Vissim software tool. An initial simulation conducted that formed basis subsequent scenarios (in total, 17 simulations performed). On analyses, it established that—for researched part system—privileging still rather uncommon battery electric vehicles (BEVs) engendered marginal deterioration conditions. At same time, allowing BEVs lanes chosen research area had no negative journey times.
